Aimee Barnes

Aimee stumbled into a healthcare career by chance, but 25 years later, she's worked in a half-dozen job functions across a variety of settings, including hospitals and health plans. In roles ranging from finance to surgical services to product development, data has been a consistent theme. Aimee says Excel is her "happy place," and she enjoys using data to tell a story that supports organizational strategy.

Having experienced the challenges of the US healthcare system firsthand, Aimee says she is driven to try to make improvements any way she can. Today, that means working across teams and divisions as Ascendient's first-ever analytics lead, providing actionable data analysis and market intelligence. Just prior to Ascendient, Aimee was the Market Intelligence Manager at Sentara Health Plans, where she spent five years rebuilding an analytics function from the ground up.

Aimee lives in Virginia Beach, where she enjoys traveling, camping, and hiking with her husband (Kevin) and dog (Maddie). Other hobbies include walking, yoga, and spending time outdoors. She is also a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach.
